Pizza Burgers, Spice Shack Style

Talk about a potential hit with the kids! This is it. Pizza and Burger combo is one that is a crowd-pleaser and a twist on favorite! When using the Italian Spice Shack Booster pack it takes the average to bold!

It starts with boosting the pizza sauce.

This is step one when making this boosted sauce. Super simple jarred pizza sauce plus 2 tbsp of the booster and 1 tsp of the blend. Mix and let this sit while you are mixing up the burger patties. Right before I use on the burgers I warm up in the microwave or in a saucepan on the stove.

Time to make the burgers!! I personally love part beef and part pork for my patties, but you can mix and match as you please. Maybe even add Italian sausage in the mix. This is also when you add the CHEESE. A couple of ways to do this. You can make the patty, add the cheese to the middle and fold in over on self till the cheese is in the center. You can also just add the shredded cheese to the mixture before making the patties. So you will basically have the cheese spread throughout for gooey deliciousness. Either way is a winner!

Time to GRILL. My favorite part. Each 1/3 pound Burger will be cook about 4/5 minutes on each side. Once you do the first flip it’s time to add the sauce and any other topping you might want. Mushrooms, Pepperoni, Onions. You get the drift. I do put just a bit more cheese on right before it is finished.

Time for the recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds ground meat (beef pork combo a fav)

  • 1 jar pizza sauce

  • 1 bag shredded mozzarella

  • toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, etc

  • 6 tbsp Spice Shack Italian Booster

  • 3 tsp Spice Shack Italian Blend

  • Buns, Salad Fixings Optional

Putting Together:

First thing, in a small dish, add 1 cup pizza sauce and 2 tbsp booster & 1 tsp blend. Let this sit while you begin to put the burgers together. Take your meat of choice and add the remaining booster and blend as well as 3 tablespoons of pizza sauce from the jar (unboosted). You need to make a cheese choice at this point. The easy button is to take 2 big handfuls of shredded cheese and add to meat to mix. Or you can make the patties and add about a tablespoon of cheese to the top of patty then fold the meat over until it is in the center of the patty. Ok. Now make 6 patties.

Preheat grill to a high then turns down to medium when adding the burgers. Cook for about 4 minutes on each side. Once you have flipped the burger to the final side add the boosted pizza sauce, toppings of choice and little more cheese. Once it is melted you are DONE!

Enjoy with a lovely salad or any other veggies you love.
